Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS)

Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS)

The QIDS, which consists of 16 items, is an assessment tool used to evaluate the severity of depressive symptoms. It was developed in 2003 based on the 30-item Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (IDS), which was initially created in 1986. The QIDS is versatile as it can be completed as a self-report questionnaire or by a clinician. Due to its brevity, it is a convenient choice for evaluating depressive symptom severity in clinical and research settings.
